On the 17th of January, Monday, Mr. K. Chandrashekar Rao held a Cabinet meeting to review the Wuhan virus pandemic and other issues in Telangana.

Besides the Wuhan virus, the Novel Coronavirus (COVID-19,) the State Education System and measures to strengthen it were taken during the Cabinet meeting. Aiming to develop infrastructure for government schools, the Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS) is set to launch ‘Mana Ooru-Mana Badi’ programme soon. In regard to make the programme, aiming government school development a success, the State Cabinet approved a budgetary allocation of Rs. 7,289 crores.

In addition, the Cabinet also decided to bring in a new legislation for regulation of fees in private schools, junior and degree colleges as well as introduce English medium in government schools from next academic year, 2022-2023. The State CM Mr. K. Chandrashekar Rao formed a Cabinet sub-committee to study and prepare modalities for the new Act which will be introduced during the Budget session of the State Legislative Assembly.

Sabitha Indra Reddy, the Education Minister of Telangana. It would have ministers like Mr. K.T. Rama Rao, Mr. T. Harish Rao, Mr. G. Jagadish Reddy, Mr. Talasani Srinivas Yadav, Mr. S. Niranjan Reddy, Mr. Vemula Prashanth Reddy, Mr. V. Srinivas Goud, Mr. Koppula Eeshwar, Mr. Puvvada Ajay Kumar and Mr. Errabelli Dayakar Rao.

To enhance women’s education rate, the Cabinet approved the proposals for establishment of a Women’s University and a Forest University in the State. The Chief Secretary has been directed to submit detailed reports on both the proposals to the State government before the next Cabinet meeting.

The State Cabinet meeting also approved Reservations for Forest College of Research and Institute (FCRI) passouts. Students who completed the four year degree course from the (FCRI) at Mulugu in Siddipet district, would be provided reservations in job recruitments to different posts in the Forest department.

According to the Cabinet,As part of the Cabinet decision, the FCRI graduates will get 25 per cent reservation to posts of Assistant Conservator of Forests (ACF), 50 per cent reservations each to the posts in the categories of Forest Range Officers (FROs) and Foresters. Accordingly, the Cabinet has approved amendments to the Telangana State Forest Service Rules of 1997 and Telangana State Forest Subordinate Service Rules of 200.

Lastly, speaking about the Wuhan virus situation, the TRS Government ensured to tackle the third wave and said, they are prepared to handle the situation with hospital facilities.
