K. Chandrashekar Rao, the Chief Minister of Telangana, on the 19th of June, announces Rs. 5 crores for the family of Colonel Santosh Babu.
Colonel Santosh Babu, An Indian Army soldier hailing from Telangana was amongst 20 Indian soldiers who lost life in India-China violent face off on the 15th of June.
Mr. Rao announced the amount in honour of late Santosh Babu’s bravery while fighting the Chinese troops in the Galwan Valley.
The State government would also provide a residential plot and Group-1 job to the Army officer’s wife Santoshi.
According to sources, KCR is also expected to visit late Santosh Babu’s house and meet his family.
KCR would present the cheque of Rs. 5 crores to his family.
In addition, the Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS) Government also announced Rs. 10 lakh each to the 19 soldiers who lost lives while fighting Chinese troops.
The cheques of Rs. 10 lakhs for 19 soldiers’ families would be given to the Union Defence Ministry headed by Rajnath Singh.
K.Chandrashekhar Rao said the State Government would extend complete support to the family of Colonel Santosh Babu in future.
KCR said, “We must display the Symbol of Unity and send a strong signal that the nation is with them and their families. Our actions will instill confidence among the armed forces personnel and their families.”
The announcement was made during the all party meeting regarding the India-China clash with Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
KCR participated in the meeting which started at 5:00 P.M., on the 19th of June.
