K. Chandrashekar Rao, the Chief Minister of Telangana, on the 23rd of July, extended good wishes to all the Indian athletes, representing India at the Tokyo Olympics.

From Friday, the 23rd of July, the 2020 Olympics started in Tokyo, Japan. As many as 115 athletes from India participated in the event.

Extending best wishes to all of them, the Telangana CM released a statement. The statement was posted on the official Twitter handle of the Chief Minister’s Office (CMO.)

The tweet was posted in Telugu, which read, “జపాన్ దేశం టోక్యోలో నేటి నుంచి ప్రారంభం కానున్న 32వ ఒలింపిక్స్ క్రీడల్లో పాల్గొంటున్న భారత క్రీడాకారులకు సీఎం శ్రీ కేసీఆర్ శుభాకాంక్షలు తెలిపారు. ప్రపంచ దేశాలు పాల్గొనే ఒలింపిక్స్, విశ్వానికి శాంతి సౌభ్రాతృత్వాలను విరజిమ్మే ఆటల సింగిడికి ప్రతిరూపంగా నిలుస్తాయని అభివర్ణించారు.”

(CM KCR wished the Indian athletes participating in the 32nd Olympic Games starting today in Tokyo, Japan. He described the Olympics as a replica of the Games, which would bring peace and brotherhood to the World.)

Another tweet was posted in English, which read, “CM Sri KCR has conveyed good wishes to all the sports persons representing India at the 32nd @Olympics beginning in Tokyo today. The CM stated that the prestigious sports event witnesses participation from countries across the globe and is a symbol of diversity, peace and harmony.”

The Tokyo Olympics started from the 23rd of July 2021 and would end on the 8th of August 2021.

In 2020, the Tokyo Olympics were postponed due to the ongoing Wuhan virus pandemic. In 2021, the Tokyo Olympics are being organised, and the name Tokyo Olympics 2020 is still retained for branding reasons.
