K. Chandrashekar Rao, the Chief Minister of Telangana, on the 30th of April, ordered a probe against the State Health Minister, on allegations of land grabbing.

Recently, farmers of two villages of Medak district, alleged Eatala Rajender, the Telangana Health Minister of grabbing their lands illegally. The matter came into light after a news channel aired reports claiming to have exposed the encroachment of assigned lands by the Health Minister. Meanwhile, villagers of 8 villages in Medak also complained to the CM regarding the same. They said that Eatala Rajender and his supporters forcibly took over their assigned lands to start a poultry industry.

Later on the 30th of April, Eatala Rajender also held a press conference and denied allegations made against him. He also dared the Telangana CM to call for an investigation against him. He described media attacks and claims to be a strategy to malign his image in public.

Acting immediately, K. Chandrashekar Rao ordered an immediate probe against Eatala Rajender. The CM directed the Vigilance and Enforcement Director General Purnachandar Rao to hold an inquiry and submit a preliminary report soon.

The Chief Minister’s Office (CMO) released an official notification regarding the same. The notice read, “The CM issued orders that the preliminary inquiry into the matter should be done immediately,”

In addition, the Chief Minister also directed the Telangana Chief Secretary Somesh Kumar to get a detailed report about the allegations from the district collector (DC) of Medak.

If sources are to be believed, CM KCR is also thinking to remove Health Minister Eatala Rajender from the State Cabinet. However, no statement or official announcement regarding the same has been made.
