In Telangana, the Wuhan virus, also known as the Novel Coronavirus (COVID-19,) cases are reducing with every passing day. In the past 24 hours, close to 8 districts, reported zero cases of the Wuhan virus.

In addition, the number of single day COVID-19 cases reported from the remaining 26 districts were lower than the previous numbers with 208 new cases. Although the number is high from the previous day’s 173 cases, the total number of active cases decreased below 5,000.

According to the Telangana Health Department, Jayashankar-Bhupalpally, Kamareddy, Komarambheem-Asifabad, Mulugu, Nagarkurnool, Narayanpet, Nirmal and Wanaparthy did not report any COVID-19 cases in the last 48 hours.

From the previous 5,005, the Wuhan virus active cases reduced to 4,991. Besides 208 new cases, the State also reported 2 deaths and 220 recoveries, taking the death and recovered cases tally to 3,906 and 6,54,765, respectively.

Of the total 208 new cases, the highest number of cases were from the Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) with 49 cases, followed by Warangal Urban with 20 cases, Medchal Malkajgiri with 15 cases, Rangareddy with 9 cases and Sangareddy with 5 cases. The new cases were reported after conducting 45,274 sample tests for COVID-19, taking the total tally to 2.58 crores.

Except the GHMC, all the other regions of Telangana reported cases below 20 cases.

Since the outbreak of the second wave of the Wuhan virus, this is the first time that Telangana reported below 5,000 active cases. The second wave of the Wuhan virus broke out in April 2021. However, with the effort of the Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS) Government and Health Department, the COVID-19 cases were controlled. Now, the K. Chandrashekar Rao Government is working to ensure the third wave does not increase the numbers and COVID-19 situation remains under control.

With this, Telangana now has 6,63,662 positive cases, of which 6,54,765 are recovered/discharged cases, 4,991 are active cases and 3,906 are deceased cases.

The Case Fatality Rate (CFR) stands at 0.58% while the recovery rate is 98.65% now. In Telangana, 79.8% are asymptomatic while 20.2% are symptomatic cases.
