Telangana cases of the Novel Coronavirus or COVID-19, continue to surge with close to 3,000 cases in a day. From the 2,500 cases on the 8th of April, the State witnessed 2,909 cases on the 10th of April.
Of the total 2,909 cases in the past 24 hours, the highest number of 487 cases were from the Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) followed by 289 positive cases from Medchal-Malkajgiri district, A225 cases from Rangareddy and 202 from Nizamabad.
The remaining cases were 121 positive cases from Jagtial, 102 from Kamareddy, 131 positive cases from Nirmal and 117 new infections from Sangareddy.
The COVID-19 positive cases reported from other districts included 70 from Adilabad, 35 from Bhadradri, 24 Jangaon, 13 from Bhupalpally, 11 from Gadwal, 92 from Karimnagar, 66 from Khammam, 49 from Asifabad, 93 from Mahabubnagar, 18 from Mahabubabad, 77 from Mancherial, 44 from Medak, eight from Mulugu, 33 from Nagarkurnool, 89 from Nalgonda, 15 from Narayanpet, 131 from Nirmal, 35 from Peddapalli, 63 from Siricilla, 82 from Siddipet, 48 from Suryapet, 60 from Vikarabad, 52 from Wanaparthy, 19 from Warangal Rural, 86 from Warangal Urban and 53 from Yadadri
Besides 2,909 new COVID-19 cases, the State also reported 584 recovered/discharged cases and 6 fatalities. The confirmed figure about COVID-19 was confirmed by the State Health Department, through a media bulletin, released on the night of the 9th of April. According to thr bulletin, the Telangana Medical Department also conducted a total of 1,11,726 COVID-19 tests, taking the cumulative total to 1,08,73,665 till date. This is for the second consecutive day that the Telangana Health Department conducted more than 1 lakh COVID-19 tests.
With all the aforementioned data, Telangana has 3,24,091 positive cases, of which 17,791 are active cases, 1,752 are deceased cases and 3,04,548 recovered/discharged cases.
The recovery rate of COVID-19 in Telangana also fell to 93.96 % from the previous 96 % and fatality rate is at 0.54 %.
