Telangana COVID-19 Update: 1,763 New Cases And 8 Deaths Reported In 24 Hours

On the night of the 18th of August, the Telangana Medical department released a media bulletin regarding the Novel Coronavirus or COVID-19 cases.

According to the Telangana Health Department’s bulletin, after reporting cases below 1,000 for two days, Telangana reports new cases crossed 1,700.

The Telangana Health Department confirmed 1,763 new cases of COVID-19 with 8 fatalities and 1,789 recovery.

Of the total 1,763 new cases, 8 were from Adilabad, 35 from Bhadradri, 484 from areas under the Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation ( GHMC.)

Other places include 61 from Jagtial, 20 from Jangaon, 17 from Jayashankar Bhupalpally, 30 from Jogulamba Gadwal, 63 from Kamareddy, 53 from Karimnagar, 41 from Khammam, 6 from Kumaram Bheem Asifabad, 33 from Mahabubnagar, 18 from Mahabubabad, 55 from Mancherial, 17 from Medak, 169 from Medchal Malkajgiri, 12 from Mulugu, 15 from Nagarkurnool, 65 from Nalgonda, 6 from Narayanpet, 16 from Nirmal, 45 from Nizamabad, 46 from Peddapalli, 31 from Rajanna Sircilla, 166 from Rangareddy, 31 from Sangareddy, 37 from Siddipet, 20 from Suryapet, eight from Vikarabad, 21 from Wanaparthy, 31 from Warangal Rural, 88 from Warangal Urban and 15 from Yadadri Bhongir.

With these updates, Telangana has 95,700 positive cases, of which 20,990 are active cases, 73,991 are recovered/discharged cases and 719 deceased.

Out of the 20,990 patients, 14,461 patients are under home isolation and 6,529 are in institutional care.

Meanwhile, the Telangana Health authorities conducted 24,542 tests till the night of the 18th of August. Of the total tests, COVID-19 results of 1,042 samples are pending.

So far 7,97,490 samples have been tested for the Novel Coronavirus infection in Telangana.

With the everyday spike in the Novel Coronavirus cases, the recovery rate in Telangana is now 77.31 % from the previous 76.90 %.

In addition, mortality rate is 0.75 % from the previous 0.76%.

The growth rate of the COVID-19 infection is 1.92 % from the previous 2.00 %.
