Telangana COVID-19 Updates: 1,637 New Cases With Over 92 % Recovery Reported

On the night of the 3rd of November, the Telangana Health Department released the media bulletin to update about the Novel Coronavirus or COVID-19.

According to the bulletin, the State recorded 1,637 new cases of COVID-19 infection. The maximum number of new cases 292 were recorded in the Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC,) followed by Rangareddy (136,) Medchal Malkajgiri (129,) Bhadradri Kothagudem (118,) Nalgonda (101,) Karimnagar (90,) Khammam (74) and Warangal Urban (56.)

Beside new COVID-19 cases, the State recorded 1,273 recoveries and 6 deaths.

As many as 1,273 people recovered during the last 24 hours taking the total number of recoveries so far to 2,24,686. The state’s recovery rate is 92.03 per cent against the national average of 92.1 per cent.

With these updates, Telangana reported 2,44,143 positive cases. Of which 18,100 are active cases, 2,24,686 are recovered/discharged cases and 1,357 deceased.

According to the media bulletin, the Health Department conducted a total of 45,526 samples for the Novel Coronavirus or COVID-19. Of the total, 42,380 were conducted in the government run laboratories.

With this cumulative number of COVID-19 tests conducted in the State is 44,39,856.

Of the total 2,44,143 positive cases so far, 70 % of people which is 1,70,900 were asymptomatic and 30 % which is 73,243 are symptomatic.

In addition, 63.90 % positive cases are between 21-50 years, 22.91 % were above 51 years and 13.18 % below 20 years.

The bed status in 61 government-run hospitals treating Covid patients shows that 7,327 out of 8,561 beds are vacant.

In 225 private hospitals, 7,091 out of 8,622 beds are vacant.

With all these updates, Telangana has a recovery rate over 92% and fatality rate at 0.55 %.
