On the 28th of July, the Telangana Government released a full list of containment zones in the State. 

According to the released date, the State has 1,057 containment zones. Nearly five months after the Novel Coronavirus or COVID-19 broke out rapidly, the State Health Department has officially issued a list of containment zones across the State. 

Etela Rajendra, the Health Minister of Telangana, took to Twitter and released the list of containment zones. 

Of the total, 92 zones are in the Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC.)  Of the 92 zones, 31 are in  Hyderabad.  Areas in and around Malakpet, Santoshnagar, Chandrayangutta, Falaknuma, and Rajendranagar appear to be having a lot of cases. 

The Secunderabad zone, with localities like Musheerabad and Amberpet, has 23 containment zones.

According to the list, Mahabubnagar district tops the list with 192 containment zones, followed by Rangareddy with 164 containment zones. 

The Khairatabad zone has 14 containment zones, followed by the Serilingampally with 10 zones, Kukatpally has 9 zones, L.B.Nagar zone has 5 containment zones. 

According to the medical bulletin, districts like Bhadradri Kothagudem, Jayashankar Bhupalpally, Kumarambheem, Asifabad, Medchal Malkajgiri, Nagarkurnool, Vikarabad, Yadadri Bhongir have no containment zones. 

In addition, the State Government also released brief details of the beds available in the State for COVID-19 patients.

The release of minute details about the COVID-19 situation came after repeated criticism from the opposition.

Meanwhile,  the total number of positive cases in Telangana stands at 58,906, of which 14,663 are active cases, 43,751 recovered/discharged.

The total number of deceased in the State are 492.

Telangana’s recovery rate is 74.30 % and COVID-19 recovery rate of Andhra Pradesh is 47.07 %.

In the past 24 hours, Telangana conducted 18, 858 sample tests for COVID-19. 

Overall, the State conducted 3,97,939 Covid-19 tests till date. Of the total, results of 788 samples are yet to come.
