The Telangana Health Department administered 3 crore vaccines against the deadly Wuhan virus (COVID-19.)

In order to fight the Novel Coronavirus (COVID-19,) the Telangana Rashta Samithi (TRS) Government started increasing the number of COVID-19 vaccine doses. On the 22nd of September, Dr. G. Srinivas Rao, the Director of Public Health of Telangana, shared the news that the State Government and the State Health Department administered 3 crore COVID-19 doses to people and achieved the milestone. Dr. Srinivas Rao said, “It is a great achievement for the State and the country that such a milestone has been crossed. The Government is looking to finish first-dose vaccinations in the coming three-four weeks and all second doses by December 31.” Till the 23rd of October 10:00 A.M., 3 crore vaccine doses were given to individuals.

The milestone of achieving 3 crore COVID-19 doses came a day after India crossed the 100 crore milestone of vaccination doses. On the 21st of October, India administered more than 100 crore (1 billion) vaccine doses in India. With this, 20.50 % of the population of India is now fully vaccinated.

In addition, according to the Telangana Health Department, a total of 75 % population of the State are given the first dose of COVID-19vaccine and 39 % of the total population received their second COVID-19 doses. With this percentage, Telangana is likely to achieve 100 % vaccination target by the end of December. With this, each and every citizen would be vaccinated with at least a single dose. Districts like Hyderabad, Rangareddy, Rajanna-Sircilla and Mulugu, the administration of first dose is almost complete.

In Telangana, 2.77 crore people are eligible to take COVID-19 doses, of which 69 lakh people are yet to take their first COVID-19 vaccine doses. In addition, 36 lakh people skipped their second dose due date and only 50 % of the population of Hyderabad and Rangareddy are fully vaccinated.

Meanwhile, in the past 24 hours, Telangana detected 193 cases of COVID-19 after conducting 42,367 sample tests. With the new cases, the State’s active case tally stands at 3,963.
