Telangana Education Department To Cancel UG/PG Exams For 1st And 2nd Year?

The Telangana Government is expected to cancel UG and PG exams for first and second year.

On the 18th of June, during a meeting with the Telangana Education department officials, P. Sabitha Indea Reddy hinted to cancel the UG and PG exams for 1st and 2nd year studbeta.

The students would be promotes directly to the next year.

The decision was proposed at a meeting conducted by Sabitha Indra  Reddy with officials of Telangana State Council for Higher Education (TSCHE.)

Suggestions were sought from the officials including Principal Secretary of Education Chitra Ramachandran, Navin Mittal, Papi Reddy, Syed Omar Jaleel and other university officials on the matter.

The education minister said that the final decision regarding the UG and PG final year or final semester exams would be taken by Telangana Chief Minister Chandrasekhar Rao.

In late April, Osmania University informed through a notice shared on its social media handles: “Telangana State decided not to detain any degree students studying in the first and second years. However, students need to clear the backlogs next year.”

Though the State Education Department is planning to cancel the UG/PG 1st and 2nd year exams, final year exams are scheduled to be held from the 20th of June.

Meanwhile, the State Education department cancelled SSC exams due to the Novel Coronavirus outbreak.

Recently, on the 18th of June, the Telangana State Board of Intermediate Examination (TSBIE) released results of 1st and 2nd year students.
