On the 4th of January, a massive fire broke out at a hydroelectric power station at Nagarjuna Sagar reservoir in Nalgonda district, Telangana.
The fire erupted during the early hours from the eighth turbine of the power generation.
According to sources, no casualties were reported as the staff escaped as soon as the fire erupted. The fire tenders rushed to the spot and controlled the fire in a few hours.
The incident is said to have taken place when cooling of the recently repaired transformer was being taken up.
The cause of the fire is yet to be ascertained and the authority is investigating the matter.
