The Telangana Government on the 10th of September, issued an order and approved hike in the salaries of teaching staff at the Stater run Gandhi hospital.

According to sources, K. Chandrashekar Rao, the Chief Minister of Telangana, approved the pending demand of hike in salaries.

The teaching staff at the government hospital was demanding a hike from four and a half years. In regard to this, recently, the doctors at Gandhi Hospital even threatened to go on strike.

Finally, the Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS) Government considered the demand of the teaching staff at the hospital and issued an order.

The Telangana Government increased the salaries from 24 % to 44 %.

There are around 2,866 faculty members across the government teaching hospitals in the State.

Responding to the State Government’s decision, Dr. Srinivas, the President of Resident Doctors Association said they welcome the decision of the State Government.

The enhanced salaries would be paid in cash from this month and payable from the next month.

While the assistant professors would get a salary from Rs. 67,000 to Rs 90,000 (34 % rise), for associate professor it would increase from Rs.80,000 to Rs. 1,00,000 (24 % hike) and for professor, it would be Rs. 1,80,000 from the previous 1,25,000 (44%.)
