The Telangana Government on the 18th of January took a major decision regarding the development of two tier cities of the State. 

In a major infrastructure development initiative, the Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS) is mulling over to construct Outer Ring Roads (ORR) in towns such as Karimnagar, Khammam, Mahabubnagar and Nalgonda.

Discussing the same during a meeting, the State Planning Board Vice Chairman Vinod Kumar said the State Government is thinking to set aside Rs. 100 to Rs. 300 crores in the upcoming state budget for this purpose. The meeting was held at the 30th division of the GHMC after an event. 

Vinod Kumar was at a gathering and laid the foundation stone for a development project in the 30th division worth Rs. 2.50 crores. The project was a part of “Prana Samkshema Pragathi Yatra,” launched by the Chief Whip of Telangana and West Warangal Member of the Legislative Assembly (MLA,) Dasyam Vinay Bhaskar. 

Mr. Kumar said, “The proposed ORRs in these cities will be on par with the Nehru Outer Ring Road in Hyderabad.”

 

  1. Vinod Kumar said, the Government is likely to set up an Urban Health Centre at Peddammagadda following requests from locals. He said, “The credit for providing irrigation to 1.50 crore acre of land in the State goes to the TRS Government. The Opposition parties have no right to criticise the TRS Government.”

During the foundation, Mr. Vinay Bhaskar said the State Government led by K. Chandrashekar Rao had spent Rs. 232 crores on the developmental works in Warangal West constituency.

He praised K.T. Rama Rao, the Minister for Municipal Administration and Urban Development Authority of Telangana, who always thought for the progress and development of the state and the GHMC limit.

During his address to the people, Vinay Bhaskar highlighted some of the development works of KTR and the TRS Government. He said in his constituency (West Warangal) Rs. 37.72 crore had been spent on central lighting system, roads and drainages at a total cost of Rs. 232 crores. In addition, he said, “Besides, 320 persons were extended financial assistance under Kalyana Lakshmi and Shaadi Mubharak scheme, while 108 people got assistance under the Chief Minister’s Relief Fund.”

The meeting was attended by local corporator Boda Dinna and officials of the GHMC were present.
