The Telangana Government launched the 30 day action plan in villages, districts and mandals level to ensure cleanliness, greenery and improvement of the environment for the State’s residents.  As the first phase of Palle Pragathi programme gave good results, the State Government decided to start the second phase from the 2nd of January, 2020.

Errabelli Dayakar Rao, the Panchayat Raj and Rural Development Minister of Telangana, supervised the preparations for the implementation of the second phase of the 30 day action plan.

Mr. Dayakar Rao, on the 13th of December, addressed the media and said, “Chief Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao is determined to bring transformation in villages, and that is the reason why he has given importance to the department.”

The Telangana Government hired volunteers and gram panchayat workers for promoting the programme and creating awareness about it.  The workers would get a fixed salary of Rs. 8,500 per month.

Speaking about the first phase, Mr. Dayakar Rao said, “We noted that very good results were recorded in all the villages. There was a visible improvement in cleanliness in villages and greenery. However, it was also observed that a few districts remained indifferent.”  He further added, “We have to complete the works on dumping yards and ‘Vaikuntadhamams’ on a war footing. There must be rainwater soak pits in every household.”

According to the Rural Development Minister, Medchal, Malkajgiri and Nalgonda were some of the areas which are not up to the mark.

M. Raghunandan Rao, the Commissioner of the Panchayat Raj and Rural Development Department, is expected to prepare a detailed report regarding the work to be done in the second phase.  The concerned officials would also conduct a meeting before the 28th of December to discuss the preparations to be done for the second phase of Palle Pragathi programme. The first phase was held from the 6th of September to the 4th of October 2019.
