Telangana Govt Releases Fund To Fight COVID-19

The Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS,) Government, released an amount of Rs. 232.51 crores to fight the pandemic Novel Coronavirus or COVID-19 in Telangana.

After the Telangana Health Department reported 16 positive cases of COVID-19 till the 20th of March, the State Government immediately released the funds.  

The decision to release the funds was taken during the high level emergency meeting conducted by K. Chandrashekar Rao, the Chief Minister of Telangana, on the 19th of March.

The State Government issued Rs 116.26 crores from the Disaster Management Fund and Rs. 83.25 crores from the State budget for quarantine arrangements and screening purposes.  Additional Rs. 33 crores was released for Special Labs and Devices.

While Telangana reported 16 cases of COVID-19, Andhra Pradesh, on the 20th of March, confirmed its 3rd COVID-19 positive case.   Nationwide, the positive Coronavirus cases crossed 200, and 4 casualties were reported till date.
