The Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS) led Telangana Government has accorded administrative sanction for the distribution of health kits to girl students in the Telugu State.
According to sources, Mr. K. Chandrashekar Rao, the Chief Minister of Telangana, sanctioned an amount of Rs. 69.52 crores towards procurement and distribution of Adolescent Health Kits. Approximately 33 lakh health kits would be distributed to girl students studying in government schools and colleges across Telangana.
The Adolescent Health kits would have zipper bags, sanitary napkins and water bottles, provided to girl students studying in Classes 8th to Intermediate second year (12th Class) in government schools and government colleges. The initiative is said to be taken by the TRS Governmen under the adolescent health programme.
Furthermore, the expenditure of this programme would be met from the National Health Mission (NHM) funds, said the State Government in an issued order.
The programme would be carried out soon under the supervision of the Commissioner of Health and Family Welfare and Mission Director.
