Telangana HC Asks State Govt To Postpone 10th Board Exams

The Telangana High Court (HC,) on the 20th of March, asked the State Government to postpone class 10th SSC Board exams in the wake of the Novel Coronavirus.

The HC in its order said, the exam which is scheduled to be held on the 21st of March, should be done as usual, but exams from the 23rd of March should be postponed till the 30th of March.

The SSC 10th exams are scheduled to be held till the 6th of April.  As of now, the Court asked to postpone the exams scheduled till the 30th of March.  However, if the pandemic situation does not come under control, the State High Court might take decisions regarding the exams after the 30th of March, depending on the scenario and spread of the Coronavirus also known as COVID-19.

The matter was heard by the HC after a public interest litigation (PIL) was filed in the court challenging the conduct of class 10 Board exams.

Meanwhile, the Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS) Government is taking all  possible measures to control the pandemic situation and announced a complete statewide lockdown till the 31st of March.
