The Telangana High Court, on the 17th of July, issued a stay order on the Municipal elections in Miryalaguda.

The Telangana High Court directed the Election Commission (EC) of Telangana to hold the elections in Miryalaguda area due to issues related to the voter list and the delimitation of wards.

The stay orders on the elections came after Chilukuru Balu, a member of the Indian National Congress (INC,) filed a petition regarding the same.

The High Court also put a hold on the elections in Shamshabad due to the same reason, after the people of Shamshabad filed a petition regarding discrepancies in the voter list.

The EC announced the Municipal elections will be held anytime after the 15th of July.

According to sources, the Municipal elections are expected to be held in the first week of August.

However, the official dates of the Municipal elections in the State are yet to be announced.
