The Telangana High Court (HC) directed the Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS) Government to conduct a meeting with the Telangana State Road Transport Corporation (TSRTC) staff.

The Telangana HC, on the 18th of October, asked the K. Chandrashekar Rao led TRS to hold talks with the TSRTC employees and union leaders at 10:30 A.M., on the 19th of October and resolve the issue.

The TSRTC employees are on an indefinite strike since the 5th of October.  The reason behind the strike is the pending demands of the TSRTC employees.

Approximately 50,000 employees went on strike, which intensified after the TRS Government declared the strike illegal and refused to accept any of the demands of the employees.

KCR even fired 1,200 employees and suspended 48,800 employees.

However, now, the Telangana HC intervened in the matter and issued an order for the TRS to conduct a meeting with the employees.  The Court said, “It is not Government’s or employees issue, but related to the public.”

The Court also said 50 % demands of the employees are fair and the State Government should consider them.

Ramachandra Rao, the representative of the State Government, justified the decision of the TRS Government not to hire a managing director.  Ramachandra Rao said, “The TSRTC called for the strike when the Government is looking for ways to resolve the issues. However, their demands are not agreeable as RTC is in loss and the appointment of the managing director has not been taken up for the same reason.”

On the 18th of October, the TSRTC strike entered its 13th day.  Apart from the TSRTC employees, drivers working for Ola, Uber and IT companies also called for an indefinite strike, which is scheduled to begin from 12:00 A.M., on the 19th of October.

Stay tuned for further updates.
