Five security personnel of Mohammed Mahmood Ali, the Home Minister of Telangana, tested positive for the Novel Coronavirus or COVID-19.
On the 24th of June, the Telangana Government confirmed the news and conducted COVID-19 test for the State Home Minister.
All the five security personnel of Mr. Ali reside in Gun Bazar, Hayatnagar, Ibrahimbagh, Tolichowki and Mailardevpally.
The five COVID-19 positive security men are under home quarantine, as they were showing mild symptoms of the Novel Coronavirus.
Meanwhile, the Telangana Government started sanitization work in areas where those 5 personnel reside and the office of the State Home Minister.
The results of COVID-19 test of Mahmood Ali are awaited.
In the past week, this is the second case where security men of politicians tested positive for Coronavirus.
Recently, the bodyguard of Raja SinghRaja Singh, a Member of the Legislative Assembly (MLA) of Goshamahal, Hyderabad and a member of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) also tested positive for the infection.
As many as 200 police personnel of Hyderabad contracted the deadly virus and some staff of the Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) also tested positive for the infection.
The rising number of Coronavirus cases in the State is creating panic amongst the people and is a major concern for the State Government.
On the 24th of June, the Telangana Health department confirmed 800 plus fresh cases of the Novel Coronavirus taking the tally to 10,444 cases.
Out of the total, 5,858 are active cases, 4,361 are recovered/discharged cases and 225 deceased till the 25th of June.
