In Telangana’s Siddipet region, a shocking case of honour killing was reported on the 17th of April, Sunday.

According to sources, a suspended home guard named Erukala Ramakrishna Goud from Bhongir was brutally killed by a supari gang.  The gang after killing Ramakrishna Goud buried his body at Lakadaram village in Siddipet district.  Getting into the details, Village Revenue Officer (VRO) Pallepati Venkatesh Mudiraj hired the gang to kill Erukala Ramakrishna Goud for marrying his daughter against his wishes.

As per sources, Erukala Ramakrishna Goud fell in love with Bhargavi, the daughter of Venkatesh and fell in love when they were residing in Yadagirigutta.  The couple got married in August 2020 against the wishes of their respective parents as they belong to different castes.  The couple has been residing at Thatha Nagar in Bhongir and has a six month old baby girl.

As of now, the Bhongir police have reportedly taken nine persons into custody in connection with the murder case and are interrogating them.  The Police said that during the interrogation, the accused confessed to having killed Ramakrishna in Hyderabad and his body was buried near a culvert at Lakadaram village in Siddipet district.  The victim’s body was later shifted

to the government hospital of Gajwel for postmortem. The police are yet to make an official statement on the incident.

The arrest was based on the complaint registered by the victim’s wife after he did not return home from work.

Furthermore, the Police have registered a case under the relevant sections of the Indian Penal Code (IPC) and launched an investigation.
