Telangana: IMD Issues Yellow Alert For Three Days As Cold Waves Intensifies In City

The Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) issued a Yellow alert for three days in Hyderabad, Telangana.

Amid falling temperature and cold winter nights, the IMD issued an alert, especially for the areas in outskirts like Kapra, Hayathnagar, Uppal, Malakpet and Falaknuma. These regions are likely to witness a drop in temperature.

According to the IMD officials, for the next three days, the temperature could go down to 2° Celsius or 3° Celsius at night. The night temperature in several districts of Telangana was also below the normal range on the 3rd of January.

Komaram Bheem Asifabad recorded the lowest minimum temperature of 10.9° Celsius. It is likely that the temperature at many places, including Medchal-Malkajgiri, Nirmal, Jangaon, Siddipet and Vikarabad might dip by 3° to 4° Celsius.

Overall, 20 districts of Telangana are under the Yellow alert, issued by the IMD.

Meanwhile, an average minimum temperature of 15.3 degree Celsius was recorded in the early hours of Monday, the 3rd of January. In addition, the lowest minimum temperature of 11.9 degree Celsius was recorded.
