K. Chandrashekar Rao, the Chief Minister of Telangana, on the occasion of the 74th Independence Day hoisted National Flag at Pragati Bhavan.
On the 15th of August, KCR hoisted the tricolor flag at 10:30 A.M.
Every year, KCR unflur the National Flagin the Golconda fort, CM KCR hoists the tricolour flag. Howevee, this year due to increasing cases of the Novel Coronavirus or COVID-19, KCR celebrated Independence Day as a low key affair at Pragati Bhavan.
The civil administration has made all kinds of preparations for Independence Day.
Mr. Rao directed all the officials, ministers and Members of the Legislative Assembly (MlAs) to hoist flags at their respective districts and areas.
Chief Secretary Somesh Kumar has released a list of chief guests who would unveil the national flag in 32 districts with an order.
As per the order, ministers Koppula Ishwar would hoist flag in (Jagitial), Puvvada Ajay Kumar (Khammam), Gangula Kamalakar (Karimnagar), V Srinivasa Gaur (Mahbubnagar), Satyavati Rathore (Mahabubabad), Talsani Srinivasa Yadav (Medak), Chamkura Mallareddy (Medilchal), A. Indrakaran Reddy, (Nirmal), Vemula Prashanth Reddy (Nizamabad), Etela Rajendar (Peddapalli), Katie Rama Rao (Rajanna Sirisilla), Rangareddy (Patolla Sabita Indaredd), MD Mahmood Ali (Sangareddy), T Harish Rao (Siddipet), Guntakandla Jagdish Reddy (Suryapet), Singireddy Niranjan Reddy (Vanaparti), Erraballi Dayakar Rao (Varangal Rural), Assembly Speaker Pocharam Srinivas Reddy (Kamareddy), Deputy Speaker Padma Rao Gaur (Vikarabad), President of the Council Gutta Sukhendra Reddy (Nalgonda) Council. Vice Presidents Neti Vidyasagar (Narayanpet), Chief Vip Bodakunti Venkateswarlu (Janagama), Dasayam Vinay Bhaskar (Warangal Urban), Government Vip Gampa Govardhan (Adilabad) Regula Kantarao (Bhadradi Kottagudem), T Bhanuprasada Rao (Jaishankarbhupalopalli), K Domma Gadwal), Arikipudi Gandhi (Kumarmabhi) Ma Asifabad), Balka Suman (Manchiriyal), MS Prabhakar Rao (Mulugu), Guvwal Balraj (Nagerkarnool) and Gongdi Sunita (Yadadribhuvanagiri.)
The government has asked the local MLA, Mayor, ZP President, DCCB / DCMS President, Municipal President and other district officials to participate in the Independence Day celebration to be held at the district level.
All these officials hoisted the National Flag at their respective offices at 9:30 A.M., on the 15th of August.
Meanwhile, Speaker Pocharam Srinivas Reddy unfurled the National flag at Telangana assembly premises on the occasion of 74th Independence Day celebrations. The speaker and others present at the assembly offered floral tributes to the Mahatma Gandhi. While the legislative council chairman Gutha Sukender Reddy hoisted the national flag at legislative council premises and extended wishes to the public on Independence Day. MLCs Naveen Kumar, Ramachandra Rao, Katepally Janardhan Reddy, assembly secretary Narasimha Charyulu were present.
Meanwhile, Telangana recorded approximately 90,000 cases of the Novel Coronavirus till date.
