The growing buzz of K.T. Rama Rao, the Municipal Administration and Urban Development Minister of Telangana being the next Chief Minister of Telangana, is worrying the opposition Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP.)
The Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS) President K. Chandrashekar Rao and other ministers are talking about KTR as the next Chief Minister.
The change in power from KCR to KTR is said to be a game plan of the opposition for the next assembly polls.
The change in plan would affect the Bharatiya Janata Party which over the past several months made strategies keeping KCR as the prime target to fight.
A different leader as the next Chief Minister candidate for the TRS, could bring the BJP back to square one, they are bound to plan their strategy for the next polls from scratch.
A BJP leader recently spoke about the remarks of Telangana BJP President Bandi Sanjay Kumar. The leader said, “(Bandi) Sanjay should have instead tried to project a public narrative that change of guard in the TRS is immaterial to the BJP’s fortune, because it is set to bring down political stalwart KCR itself, so how would KTR matter?”
Recently, the BJP President said, the change in power from KCR to KTR could be a failure and would demolish the TRS image in Telangana.
Meanwhile, the TRS leaders are sure of the success of KTR as the next CM as he already built a brand for himself.
His way of leadership and public image particularly among urban voters is undoubtedly a boon for the TRS.
A Member of the Legislative Assembly (MLA) of the TRS said, “Ram anna is extremely articulate and multi-lingual. He can charm a variety of audiences with his macaronic capabilities, and can act as a bridge between India and Bharat, or Hyderabad and rest of Telangana.”
The MLA said, “What will he get in the BJP that he has not received in the TRS? He would stick to TRS and continue to work for the party and government, unless an attempt was made to marginalise him completely, which won’t be the case.
On the other hand, both KCR and KTR refused to comment about the speculation and increasing buzz of KTR being the next CM.
However, an official announcement is yet to be decided and would be taken by K. Chandrashekar Rao, the Chief Minister of Telangana and President of the TRS.
