On the 22nd of January, Telangana is conducting its Municipal elections.
The polls are being conducted for 120 Municipalities and 10 municipal corporations.
More than 50 lakh voters are eligible to cast their votes and decide the fate of the candidates in the the fray.
The polling began at 7:00 A.M., and would continue until 5:00 P.M., today.
The State Election Commission (EC) organised as many as 7,961 polling stations across the State.
Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS) ministers and workers cast their votes and urged all the voters to exercise their franchise.
The Telangana Police deployed a large number of police personnel for the polls to take place smoothly.
The major parties contesting the Municipal elections are the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP,) the TRS and the Indian National Congress (INC.)
The counting of votes would be held on the 25th of January.
