Telangana is all set to celebrate Ganesh Chaturthi, on the 10th of September. The Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS) Government is making special arrangements for the Ganesh idol immersion, at Tank Bund, Hyderabad.
In regard to this, the Special Chief Secretary for Municipal Administration Mr. Arvind Kumar took a tour and reviewed the arrangements. According to sources, Mr. Arvind Kumar along with the Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) officials reviewed all the arrangements including the Wuhan virus, also known as the Novel Coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic protocols. Due to the ongoing Wuhan virus pandemic, the GHMC made special arrangements and urged people to follow the protocols strictly.
Telangana people celebrate Ganesh Chaturthi in a grand manner. However, due to the ongoing pandemic since 2019, the festival is being celebrated considering the COVID-19 situation and protocol.
This year, the Ganesh Chaturthi festival would be celebrated from the 10th of September and visarjan (immersion) would occur on the 19th of September at Hussain Sagar, Tank Bund, Hyderabad.
This year, the Hyderabad Police would make special arrangements like proper hygiene and traffic arrangements to ensure observance of the COVID-19 protocols during the festival.
Barricades and cranes would be organised at Tank Bund at the identified Visarjan points. In Telangana, a total of 10 locations would be set for Ganesh idols visarjan.
Of the total 10 visarjan points, Mr. Arvind Kumar has sought details of Visarjan points at PV Narasimha Rao Marg and NTR Marg, the points for huge idol immersion.
Besides this, the Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation had also set up 24 artificial lakes to facilitate the Idol immersion for the local people.
In addition, the Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS) Government announced to distribute 70,000 clay idols out of which 50,000 would be distributed by GHMC and the rest would be distributed by Home Ministry and Development Authority (HMDA) and the Endowment Department.
This year, the Ganesh Chaturthi festival would be celebrated from the 10th of September and visarjan (immersion) would occur till the 19th of September.
