Jagga Reddy, a Member of the Legislative Assembly (MLA) of Sangareddy, Telangana, was arrested on the 15th of July.
Jagga Reddy, who is a member of the Indian National Congress (INC,) was heading to a Jaladeeksha, when the Telangana Police stopped his convoy and arrested him.
Speaking about the reason, the Telangana Police arrested him as he was heading to stage a protest and begin a Jaladeeksha for his demand of transferring Godavari river’s water to the Sangareddy constituency.
Mr. Reddy also accused Harish Rao, the MLA of the Siddipet constituency, of allegedly shifting the water from Sinur reservoir to Siddipet, due to which, Sangareddy is having a scarcity of drinking water.
The Sangareddy MLA also said the Government is not doing anything to resolve the issue started by Harish Rao.
The Telangana Police arrested Jagga Reddy and took him to the Kondapur Police Station.
