Telangana Reports 169 New Cases With 4 Fatalities Due To Novel Coronavirus

On the 29th of May, Telangana reported 169 cases of the Novel Coronavirus and four deaths due to the infection on the 29th of May.

Out of the 169 new cases, 82 were reported from the Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) limit, 14 from Rangareddy and two from Medak and Sangareddy each.  Other 5 cases, were migrants and remaining 64 who tested positive of COVID-19 are deportees from Saudi Arabia.

Speaking about 4 deaths, one was a 53 year old man, suffering from carcinoma thyroid, second death was of a 59 year old man suffering from Multiple Myeloma and third one was a 62 year old man suffering from hemiplegia.

The fourth death was of a 60 year old woman, who was suffering from hypertension and associated comorbidities.

Meanwhile, 36 patients were discharged, with the total number of discharges reaching 1,381.

With these updates, Telangana has 2,425 positive cases, 973 active cases, 1,381 discharged/cured cases and 71 fatalities till date.

In the past few days, due to the spike in cases, the numbers of districts which did not report any single cases of COVID-19 for 14 days reduced to 17.

Previously, as per the Telangana Rashtra Samithi, out of the 33 districts of Telangana, 26 districts of Telangana did not report a single new case for 14 days.

The districts like Sircilla, Kamareddy, Mahabubnagar, Bhupalpally, Nagarkurnool, Mulugu, Peddapalli, Siddipet, Bhadradri, Asifabad, Nizamabad, Adilabad and Mulugu did not report a single cases of COVID-19 infection in the past two weeks.

The TRS Government directed concerned officials to take up strict lockdown norms and ensure social distancing, as shops are allowed to open even in Hyderabad, which is a containment zone.

Though the State allowed movement of people, transportation, opening of shops, social distancing, face masks and sanitizers at shops are strict rules, need to be followed by all.
