Telangana Reports 614 COVID-19 Cases With 4 Deaths In 24 Hours

On the evening of the 30th of July, the Telangana Health Department released a media bulletin and updates about the Wuhan virus cases (Novel Coronavirus) situation in Telangana.

The everyday cases of the State are now below 800 since the past 15 days, taking the active cases to 9,141 from the previous 9,188. In the past 24 hours, Telangana reported 614 new cases, 4 fatalities and 657 recoveries from the deadly virus. With this, Telangana now has 6,44,330 positive cases, of which 9,141 are active cases, 6,31,389 are recovered/discharged cases and 3,800 are deceased.

The new cases were confirmed after conducting COVID-19 tests of 1,11,251 samples, taking the cumulative total to 2.18 crores (2, 18,93,203) till date.

According to sources, the highest number of cases have been reported from the Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) region, areas of Medchal Malkajgiri, Nalgonda, Warangal and Rangareddy. The GHMC reported the highest number of COVID-19 (73) cases in the past 24 hours, followed by Warangal with 59 cases and Nalgonda with 49 cases. In addition, the active containment zones also reduced to 33 from the previous 40.

In addition, out of the total new COVID-19 cases reported in Telangana in the last one week, over 50 % cases were from six districts, Hyderabad, Karimnagar, Khammam, Nalgonda, Peddapalli, and Warangal Urban.

The recovery rate of Telangana is now 97.99% from the previous 97.98 %. However, the fatality rate of COVID-19 was increased to 0.59 % from the previous 0.58 %.

It is to be noted, of the total active cases, 79.80 % cases are asymptomatic, whereas, only 20.20 % are symptomatic.
