Telangana Reports 657 COVID-19 Cases With 2 Deaths, Total At 6.38 Lakhs

Active Wuhan virus cases (Novel Coronavirus) in Telangana are now below 1000 with 657 new cases.

In the past 24 hours, the 20th of July, Telangana reported 657 new cases, the lowest 2 fatalities and 704 recoveries in the past 24 hours. Since the past 12 days, Telangana is constantly reporting below 800 cases of the Wuhan virus.

According to sources, the highest number of cases have been reported from the Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) region, areas of Khammam district, Rangareddy and Nalgonda. The GHMC region reported the highest number of COVID-19 (74) cases in the past 24 hours. The single day Wuhan virus cases in other districts were below 50.

With this, Telangana now has 6,38,030 positive cases, of which 9,787 are active cases, 6,24,477 are recovered/discharged cases and 3,766 are deceased cases. The new cases were confirmed after conducting COVID-19 tests of 1,04,578 samples, taking the cumulative total to 2.07 crores till date.

The recovery rate of Telangana improved to 97.87% from 97.76 % and the fatality rate of COVID-19 was at 0.58 %.

The aforementioned data was confirmed through a media bulletin, released regularly to update about the COVID-19 situation in the State.

Meanwhile, there are 39 active containment zones with no micro containment zones in GHMC limits.

In addition, the Telangana Health Department is constantly reminding people of the State to be cautious and follow all the guidelines of COVID-19. Concerned about the change in weather and current situation, the Telangana Director of Health and Public Welfare also asked people to avoid social gatherings, outings in the wake of the possible third wave of the Wuhan virus.

Meanwhile, a total of 1.30 crore people in the State were administered the COVID-19 vaccine doses till date.
