Telangana Reports 933 New COVID-19 Cases, Total At 2.66 Lakhs

The Telangana Health Department, on the night of the 24th of November, confirmed 993 new cases of the Novel Coronavirus or COVID-19.

The number of cases increased in the past two days, from below 500 to 900.

Of the total new cases, the highest number of cases were from the Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) limits, which is 161, followed by Medchal Malkajgiri (93,) and 67 from Bhadradri Kothagudem.

Other districts which reported the remaining cases are 62 from Rangareddy, 57 from Khammam, 46 from Karimnagar, 45 from Nalgonda, 39 each from Warangal Urban and Jagtial, 34 from Sangareddy, 31 from Mahabubabad, 28 from Mancherial, 27 from Medak, 25 each from Rajanna Sircilla and Mulugu, 23 from Kamareddy, 21 from Peddapalli, 17 from Siddipet, 15 from Mahabubnagar, 14 each from Nagarkurnool and Yadadri Bhongir, 13 from Warangal Rural, 12 from Jayashankar Bhupalpally, 10 from Vikarabad, 9 from Wanaparthy, 8 each from Nirmal and Jangaon, 5 from Jogulamba Gadwal, 2 each from Adilabad and Komarambheem Asifabad.

In addition to that, the Telangana Health Department in the media bulletin, confirmed 1,150 recoveries and 4 deaths in the past 24 hours.

The number of tests conducted for the Novel Coronavirus in the past 24 hours stood at 47,593, of which results of 695 samples are pending.

According to sources, as per the direction of the Telangana High Court and K. Chandrashekar Rao, the Chief Minister of Telangana, the Telangana Health Department increased the number of tests. Previously, per day tests were limited to 35,000 to 40,000, which has now been increased to 45,000 to 50,000.

With these aforementioned updates, Telangana has 2,66,042 positive cases, of which 10,886 are active cases, 2,53,715 are recovered/discharged cases and 1,441 deceased.

In addition, the recovery rate from the COVID-19 infection is more than 93 % and the fatality rate is 0.54 % in the State.
