Telangana reported fresh cases of the Novel Coronavirus or COVID-19 in the last 24 hours.
On the 1st of July, the health department of Telangana confirmed 945 new cases of the Novel Coronavirus. With this, the total Coronavirus cases in the State stand at 16,339.
Meanwhile, nearly 1,712 people were discharged or recovered.
In addition, seven people died on the 30th of June, due to the Novel Coronavirus, taking the death count to 260.
Out of the total 945 fresh cases, the Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) reported 869 new cases, Ranga Reddy reported 29 cases and Sangareddy 21 cases.
These three places are also observed as hotspots in Telangana for the spread of the Novel Coronavirus.
In regard to this, the Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS) Government decided to impose a lockdown in the GHMC unit to curb the spread of the virus.
The State Government is also likely to conduct a Cabinet meeting and decide upon the lockdown in the GHMC limit areas.
However, an official announcement regarding the Cabinet meeting is yet to be made.
