On the 2nd of July, Telangana reported a new big spike in the cases of the Novel Coronavirus or COVID-19.
According to the media bulletin released by the Telangana Health Department, State reo, recorded 1,018 new cases.
With the fresh cases, the total tally crosses 17,000 and reached at 17,357 cases in Telangana till date.
The fatalities also increased to 267 after seven more people succumbed to the virus.
Out of the 1,018 fresh cases, the Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC,) recorded 881 cases, followed by 36 from Medchal district and 33 in Ranga Reddy district.
Meanwhile, as many as 788 people were discharged/cured in the last 24 hours.
Till date, Telangana Medical Department conducted as many as 92,797 sample tests for the Novel Coronavirus.
With this, the State has 8,082 cured/discharged cases, 9,008 patients are active cases 267 decreased.
In regard to this, the Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS) Government, on the 1st of July, extended lockdown till the 31st of July in containment zones including GHMC limits.
