The representatives from Telangana Restaurant owners, National Restaurant Association of India (NRAI) and Telangana State Hotels Association met K.T. Rama Rao, the Information Technology, Electronics and Communication Minister of Telangana.

The meeting was held on the evening of the 21st of May, to discuss the hotels and restaurants business in Telangana.

Shaaz Mehmood, owner of Olive Bistro, Shankar Krishnamurthy, the owner of Fusion 9 and Amar Ohri, the owner of Ohri’s Group, were present during the meeting.

The owners of the aforementioned restaurants urged KTR to take decision on the opening of the restaurants in Telangana, as the industry is suffering huge losses due to the lockdown and pandemic crisis.

Mr. Shaaz said, the Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS) announced relaxation for other sectors, but no support has been given to hotels and restaurants.

In regard to this, KTR assured resumption of restaurant services soon after the lockdown 4.0., with a set of guidelines.  He also asked concerned government officials to set up an internal manual of guidelines with respect to the Government norms. 

Meanwhile, if started, the restaurant owners need to maintain sanitation, hygiene and social distancing at the restaurants. 

The Food and Beverages Industry is the most-affected industryduring the pandemic crisis due to the Novel Coronavirus.
