Telangana To Pay Full Salaries To Government Employees From June Amid Covid-19

The Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS) Government, on the 24th of June, announced to pay full salaries to government employees in Telangana. 

The State Government after the approval from K. Chandrashekar Rao, the Chief Minister of Telangana issued a government order (GO) regarding the same. 

The salaries and pensions which were given half in the wake of the Novel Coronavirus wake be again given 100 % from the June month. 

The Telangana Government announced cut in salary from the March and given half salaries for March, April and May.

The State Government had announced a 75 %  cut in salaries of the Chief Minister, state cabinet members, Members of Legislative Assembly (MLAs) and others. 

In addition 60 % salaries were deducted  IAS, IPS and other such Central service officers. 

Besides, The cut was 10 % for Class IV, outsourcing and contract employees and 50 % for all categories of pensioners.

The decision was a precautionary measure to restrain economic conditions during the pandemic crisis due to the Novel Coronavirus.

However, on the 24th of June, after reviewing the situation, the State Government decided to give 100 % salaries. 

The Government said after deferred payment of salaries, pensions and other remunerations from March to June for various categories of employees and personnel, including public representatives and decided to restore normal payment from June.

Regard to this, a GO was issued, which read, “The Government accordingly directs that the salaries, pensions and all other remunerations shall be drawn and disbursed in full from the month of June 2020 (payable in July, 2020) onwards, subject to adjustment and recovery of all the applicable deductions and recoveries.”

Meanwhile, Telangana reported a total of 9,553 cases of the Novel Coronavirus.
