Telangana Vaccination Drive Second Phase Begins: 93,000 Police Personnel To Get Doses

The Novel Coronavirus or COVID-19 vaccination drive entered the second phase in Telangana.

From the 6th of February, front line workers including police personnel are being administered doses of the two India made COVID-19 vaccines.

The Commissioner of Police (CP) of Rachakonda, Mahesh Bhagwat was vaccinated against the Novel Coronavirus disease.

Mr. Bhagwat said, there are no side effects with the vaccine and asked the people not to hesitate in taking the vaccine.

Mahesh Bhagwat took the COVID-19 shot at Primary Health Care (PHC) centre of Malkajgiri.

Mr. Bhagwat said, “Around 49 centres have been set up for the vaccination drive to vaccinate the police personnel including 6,000 from law and order, Octopus, National Security Guard (NSG), Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF,) and other personnel of the department would get vaccination.

Meanwhile, Commissioner of Inspector (CI) K. Kishore and other police staff got the vaccine in PHC at Malyala mandal headquarters.

With the conclusion of the vaccination drive of health workers, the Telangana Government started vaccinating police officials. In the first phase, around 3.30 lakh health workers were registered for the vaccine and 1.93 lakhs got the vaccine shot.

The second phase would continue till the 12th of February and the details of the beneficiaries would be updated on the CoWin Portal.

Besides police personnel, municipal, revenue and panchayat officials would also get two India made vaccinations.

On the first day, the 6th of February, the vaccine was distributed to nearly 6,000 police personnel in Hyderabad and other districts of Telangana.

In total, 93,000 police personnel have been registered to get COVID-19 doses. The 93,000 targeted personnel include 73,000 from different wings in the department and 16,800 home guards, among others.
