On Saturday, a 26 year old from Warangal district in Telangana was shot dead in Milpitas, Santa Clara, California in the USA. The Victim’s father said the man who shot his son was a carjacker and attacked Mamidala Vamshi Chander Reddy after his part time shift early on Saturday morning. Vamshi was returning to his room after finishing his shift at a local store in Milpitas.
Vamshi’s father, Sanjeev Reddy, speaking to reporters on Sunday said, “Vamshi’s friends called me on Saturday saying my son is missing and that an incident has taken place wherein a person was shot at. They later informed me that it was Vamshi who got killed.”
The youngster had gone to California, USA to pursue his MS from Silicon Valley University in 2013. while searching for software jobs, Vamshi was doing odd jobs at local stores. Mr. Reddy, the father said, “His friends told me that Vamshi was shot dead by a carjacker who was trying to take away the car of a woman at gunpoint in the parking garage of the apartment.” The father also shared that he spoke to his son two days before the incident. In tears, Mr. Reddy said, “He was worried about finding a software job there. I asked him to come back and find a job here. We wanted to get him married. He said he would come back home soon but we did not expect such a thing to happen to him.”
The father appealed to the Central Government and also Telangana State government to bring back his son’s body without delay. Local lawyers said that they will help in bringing back Vamshi’s body as soon as possible.
