Telengana: 75 New COVID- 19 Cases Increases Number To 229

Telangana reported 75  new cases of the Novel Coronavirus or COVID- 19, on the late night of the 3rd of April, increasing the total number to 229.

The reports were confirmed  by a news bulletin , released by the Medical and Health departments of the State.  The bulletin read, “As many as 75 fresh positive cases of Covid-19 were reported in the last 24 hours, taking the total number of positive cases in the state to 229 so far. However, 32 of them, including 15 since morning, were discharged till now.  As such, the actual number of Covid-19 patients presently undergoing treatment in the hospitals is 186.”

Meanwhile, 2 new deaths due to the Novel Coronavirus were also reported. One from Shadnagar and another from Secunderabad.   However, it is not yet confirmed whether the cases are related to the Tablighi Jamaat Congregation, held in Delhi. However, of the 75 new cases, 73 are linked with the event held at the Markaz Mosque, in Delhi.

The Governor of Telangana Tamilisai Soundarajan submitted  a report regarding the Tablighi attendees from Telangana, the people who were traced, details of the ones who are in Quarantined homes and those who are self quarantined.

In the report, the Telangana Governor, mentioned 26,586 people with foreign travel history are under home quarantine.  Out of a total, 19,364 completed their home quarantine period and 7,222 are still in quarantine. 

The report also said, “By April 7, all the home quarantined people would be declared safe.”

Since the cases increased drastically in a day, CM K. Chandrashekar Rao urged the citizens to be self isolated.  

Emphasising on the need for social distancing and self quarantine, KCR said the only way to prevent the spread of the Novel Coronavirus is isolation.
