Uttam Kumar Reddy, the President of the Telangana Pradesh Congress Committee (TPCC,) on the 30th of April, met Somesh Kumar, the Chief Secretary of Telangana.
The meeting was organised to discuss the ongoing situation due to the Novel Coronavirus in the State, implementation of the lockdown rules and other measures to contain the spread of the virus.
Besides the COVID-19 situation, Mr. Somesh Kumar discussed issues concerning the farmers, the migrant workers and other matters related to the Novel Coronavirus.
Mr. Reddy said the State Government’s decision to give Rs. 1,500 to poor and White ration card holders, beside free 12 kg rice and pulses is not enough for the people. The President of the TPCC appealed to do more for the people who are below poverty line.
Uttam Kumar Reddy asked the State Government to consider his views and take the necessary steps for the underprivileged families in Telangana.
Meanwhile, Telangana reported a total of 1,016 cases of the Novel Coronavirus or COVID-19 with 25 fatalities.
