The Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS) Government, on the 22nd of October, appointed Ravi Gupta, the Telangana Additional Director General of Police (DGP,) as the Secretary of the Home Department.
Apart from Ravi Gupta, the State Government also appointed a new Director General (DG) of the Prison Department. The K. Chandrashekar Rao led TRS decided to appoint Rajiv Trivedi, an Indian Public Service (IPS) officer, as the new DG of the Prison Department.
IPS officer Rajiv Trivedi replaced Sandeep Shandilya.
The decision was taken during a meeting with KCR and other TRS officials, after the Telangana High Court allowed the TRS Government to conduct Municipal elections.
The TRS is all set to conduct the Municipal elections in Telangana. However, the official dates of the elections are yet to be announced.
DGP Ravi Gupta and IPS officer Rajiv Trivedi will take over their respective offices from the 23rd of October.
