Shakeel, the Member of the Legislative Assembly (MLA) of Bodhan of the Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS,) on the 13th of September, dismissed the rumours about him quitting the Party.
Shakeel addressed the media and said the news about him joining the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) is not true.
From the past few days, it was said since K. Chandrashekar Rao, the Chief Minister of Telangana, did not induct Shakeel into his Cabinet, he is upset and will join the BJP.
The rumours started Shakeel met Dharmapuri Arvind, the Member of Parliament (MP) of Nizamabad and a BJP member, at the latter’s residence.
Shakeel said he is not going to join the BJP. Speaking about his meeting with MP Arvind, he said it was his personal choice to meet him and has nothing to do with him switching parties.
He concluded and said, “I have been working with the chief minister for the last 12 years and will continue in TRS throughout life.”
Shakeel won the Assembly seat from Bodhan with a majority of 8,100 votes and is a sitting MLA of Bodhan.
