The Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS) Government released an amount of Rs. 73.50 crores for weavers and handloom workers.
Mr. K.T. Rama Rao, the Municipal Administration and Urban Development Minister, released the money during an event on the 7th of September. The Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS) announced various welfare schemes for weavers and handloom workers of Telangana.
According to sources, Mr. K.T. Rama Rao released 73.5 crores, of which Rs. 34 crores would be given to 50,000 weavers under the Chenetha Cheyutha scheme. In addition, Rs. 14.49 crores would be given to 20,000 weavers under the Chenetha Mitra and Rs. 14 crores to 74 weavers societies. An amount of Rs. 10 crores was released for marketing and subsidies for societies.
During the event, the TRS Minister said the Telangana Government led by Mr. K. Chandrashekar Rao is committed towards the growth and development of weavers and handloom workers.
Mr. K.T. Rama Rao assured financial assistance and growth of the handloom industry in Telangana.
It is to be noted, due to the Wuhan virus pandemic, many industries, including the Weavers and Handloom industry suffered huge losses. To ensure the revival of the handloom industry, Mr. Rama Rao took measures, reviewed the situation and released the money under various schemes.
