The Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS) Government finally launched the Rs. 150 crores super speciality hospital in the premises of Kakatiya Medical College (KMC.) The construction has taken place under the Pradhan Mantri Swasthya Suraksha Yojana (PMSSY.)
The hospital would soon be functional for the people of Warangal and Telangana. Besides the Central Government, the Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS) Government also released an amount of Rs. 8 crores for the construction of the hospital. The hospital at the time of the Novel Coronavirus (COVID-19) crisis would be a help for the State Government and would enhance the medical infrastructure in Telangana for non COVID-19 patients.
On Monday, the 10th of May, K. Chandrashekar Rao, the Chief Minister of Telangana, announced the opening of the two super speciality hospitals. KCR directed officials to start operation of super speciality hospitals in Warangal and Adilabad. The new 250 bed super specialty hospital is a wing of the Mahatma Gandhi Medical (MGM) Hospital, constructed on the premises of Kakatiya Medical College in Warangal, Telangana.
In addition, the State Government would also recruit 363 doctors and paramedical staff at the hospital.
E. Dayashankar Rao, the Panchayat Raj Minister of Telangana extended gratitude and thanked the Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao for his decision to appoint 50,000 MBBS doctors in various State-run hospitals on a temporary basis to deal with the COVID-19 situation.
