The Telangana Government, on the 21st of October, submitted a report to the Telangana High Court (HC) and said the State Government is out of funds to pay salaries to Telangana State Road Transport Corporation (TSRTC) employees.
The Telangana HC recently ordered the Telangana Government to pay the September salaries to the TSRTC employees.
The TSRTC employees filed a petition against the Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS) Government after the Government sacked 1,200 employees and suspended 48,800 employees.
The TSRTC employees, who are on an indefinite strike since the 5th of October, demanded their salaries for September.
However, on the 21st of October, the TRS said the State does not have enough funds to pay the September salaries to the RTC employees. The representative of the TRS said the TSRTC employees’ strike is illegal and against the law. However, the petitioner criticised the State Government for declaring the strike illegal and said not paying salaries to employees despite them working is illegal too.
The Telangana High Court adjourned the case until the next hearing.
The date of the next hearing will be announced soon.
