The Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS) Government is going to deposit the Rythu Bandhu scheme money in the Kharif season.

On the 7th of June, S. Niranjan Reddy, the Telangana Agriculture Minister, announced to deposit Rs. 5,000 in the bank accounts of farmers under the Rythu Bandhu scheme. Under the scheme, the beneficiaries (eligible farmers) would get an amount of Rs. 5,000 for the Kharif season. The amount deposit process would begin from the 15th of June and would be completed till the 25th of June.

According to sources, farmers who have a pattadar passbook and have their bank details saved in the Dharani portal are eligible for the beneficial amount of Rs. 5,000. The farmers whose accounts are not linked due to the merger of their banks has been advised to visit the Agriculture Extension Officer (AEO) and update their bank details including IFSC code.

The Agriculture Minister also asked the farmers to submit their bank account details, pattadar passbooks and the Aadhar card to the AEO, who would update the information in the Dharani portal. The Agriculture Minister of Telangana, asked all the eligible farmers to update their bank details by the 10th of June, following which, the State Government would deposit the amount directly in their bank accounts.

The State government has been depositing Rythu Bandhu amount directly into the bank accounts of farmers since December 2018.

However, this time the situation of the Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS) Government is said to be worse due to the low revenue. The State Government would need an amount of Rs. 7,400 crores to deposit the promised amount of Rs. 5,000 in the bank accounts of nearly 60 lakh beneficiaries. Of the required amount, the TRS Government decided to raise Rs. 2,500 crores from the open market borrowing through the Reserve Bank of India (RBI.)

Stay tuned for further updates
