After the exit of Eatala Rajender, the former Health Minister of Telangana, from the ruling Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS,) a TRS Rajya Sabha member questioned his own existence.

D. Srinivas on the 17th of July, made a sensational comment over his membership with the TRS. When asked about his future with the TRS, the Parliament member said, “I honestly don’t know which party I’m in right now. I think it is better you ask KCR which party I belong to. I am doubting if I’m a Rajyasabha MP on behalf of TRS. The party leaders are not inviting me for any of TRS’s events.”

With the statement of Dharampuri Srinivas it could be said, he was disappointed with the behavior of K. Chandrashekar Rao, the Chief Minister of Telangana and the TRS members towards him. He is not only agitated about being a member of the TRS, but also expressed his uncertainty with the Party.

Meanwhile, it is to be noted, both the sons of D. Srinivas are interested in different political parties. While his elder son Sanjay Srinivas is likely to join the Telangana Pradesh Congress Committee (TPCC,) his younger son Aravind Srinivas is a Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) member.

Commenting on the diversity in the family with the political interests, D. Srinivas said, “They have varied political interest and I’m okay with it. A few political opponents criticise us, saying three members from our family belong to three different parties. But I don’t see the problem in it(sic.)”

The growing turmoil between the TRS MP and the Party President could soon result in the exit of D. Srinivas from the TRS.

Mr. Dharampuri Srinivas, who was initially a TPCC Member, joined the TRS in 2018, after the Telangana Assembly Elections.
