After the Election Commission of India (ECI) restricted public meetings in Huzurabad and adjoining assembly constituencies, the Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS) is planning to conduct plenary meetings.
It is to be noted, the TRS Plenary meeting to elect the President of the TRS is scheduled on the 25th of October. The presidential election would be attended by 14,000 representatives of the Party and would elect its President. Although the President of the TRS is going to be Mr. k. Chandrashekar Rao, the current President of the TRS, the Party conducts the election every once in two years. According to the TRS leaders, the elections now are being held more like a formality, following the rules and laws formulated during the formation of the TRS.
The decision to conduct the plenary meeting in Huzurabad was taken to attract the voters of Huzurabad Assembly constituencies, in the lines of TRS Plenary meeting. Mr. K. Chandrashekar Rao, the Chief Minister of Telangana and the President of the TRS is trying to turn the Plenary meeting into a public meeting for the Huzurabad Assembly by poll. After the Election Commission of India (ECI) prohibited any public meeting and roadshows amid the Novel Coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic, the big campaign strategies of the TRS were foiled. Following the same, the TRS planned to conduct the plenary meeting, gaining attention of the Huzurabad residents for votes.
During the meeting, KCR is going to deliver a speech and attract voters.
Besides the Plenary meeting, the TRS would also conduct an event to mark the 20th anniversary of the TRS. The 20th anniversary event would be held at the Hyderabad International Convention Centre (HICC.)
A TRS leader, who wished to be anonymous spoke about the upcoming meeting said, “The TRS Chief is preparing a speech to draw the attention of the Huzurabad voters from the party plenary. He will explain how the government is committed to develop Huzurabad and the funds earmarked to the constituency in recent months.”
With the plenary meeting organised on the 25th of October, this would be the last Public meeting before the Huzurabad Assembly by election.
