The Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS) on the 21st of April, released the first list of candidates, contesting the Greater Warangal Municipal Corporation (GWMC) elections.

The Telangana Panchayat Minister Errabelli Dayakar Rao handed over B-forms to the candidates to fill the forms and file their nomination.

The candidates selected by TRS are:

2nd Division – Singular by Banotu
5th Division – Tadishetti Vidyasagar
7th Division – Vemula Srinivas
13th Division – Suresh Joshi
15th Division – Akulapally Manohar
16th Division – Sunkari Manisha Sivakumar
17th Division – Gadde Babu
23rd Division – Yelugam Lilavati Satyanarayana
27th Division – Jarthi Ramesh
29th Division – Gundu Sudharani
38th Division – Byroboina Uma Damodar
45th Division – Indla Nageshwar Rao
51st Division – Ranjit Rao of Boinampally
55th Division – Jakkula Rajitha Venkateshwars
56th Division – Sirangi Sunil Kumar
57th Division – Black Swaroopirani
64th Division – Aavala Radhika Narottam Reddy
65th Division –  Guguloth Divyarani.

The Greater Warangal is going for polls for 66 divisions on the 30th of April.  Along with the GWMC, the Greater Khammam Municipal Corporation, the Greater Siddipet, Achampet, Jadcherla, Kottur and Nakirekal municipalities are also contesting their local body elections.

While the polling woukd be held on the 30th of April, the counting of votes would be taken up on the 3rd of May.

Major parties contesting against each other are the TRS, the Indian National Congress (INC) and the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP.)
