Telangana State Road Transport Corporation (TSRTC) workers, on the 5th of November, conducted a meeting to discuss the Telangana Rashtra Samithi’s (TRS) recent announcement.

On the 4th of November, the TRS Government announced the 5th of November as the deadline for the TSRTC employees to rejoin duty.

K. Chandrashekar Rao, the Chief Minister of Telangana, said this would be the last chance for the TSRTC employees to call off the strike and save their jobs.  However, the TSRTC employees refused to accept the TRS Government’s offer and decided to continue the strike.

E.Ashwathama, the President of the Joint Action Committee (JAC,) organised a meeting to discuss the deadline set by the State Government.

Professor Kodandaram, the President of the Telangana Jana Samithi (TJS,) V. Hanumantha Rao, a senior leader of the Indian National Congress (INC) and the TSRTC employees attended the meeting.

After the meeting, Ashwathama said no matter what happens, the TSRTC would not give up and continue their struggle.  The TSRTC employees are demanding the TSRTC be merged with the State Government, along with the implementation of better welfare schemes for the employees.

The TSRTC strike started on the 5th of October and entered its 32nd day on the 5th of November.

Stay tuned for further updates.
